Careful Consideration
The Oak Trace Senior Living community in Downers Grove, IL recently received news coverage due to the extensive redevelopment that is scheduled for completion in 2024. While other amenity renovations have completed recently, the independent wings & common areas will bring a large part of the campus new life.
Danny Martin, Partner at SAS, who declined to be interviewed another time by his own staff for this news blast, discussed with Environments for Aging (EFA) how a pause and reset during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed an introspective look at the design progress. This included key programmatic discussions with existing staff and residents. The team focused on specific evaluation on amenities and site layout; taking the time to consider what was happening in the world and how resident experience could be enhanced in the repositioning process. Various Publications
SAS was also able to expand upon this in an article published recently on the Daily Herald’s website covering similar topics at Oak Trace. Oak Trace takes senior housing and landscaping design to the next level.
To round out the recent trio of publications on the Independent Living expansion and existing amenities reinvention, EFA put together a ‘First Look’ at the upcoming project with a description, project data, a information about the entire design team for a quick recap of what is to come! With an opening in early 2024 we are excited about the good news surrounding the project and look forward to the grand opening!
