On the Boards
Our office is officially under construction! Packing and cleaning out of our space was no easy task. We appreciate all of our reps and coworkers who helped us in a short amount of time.
Crews started Phase 1 April 22nd and they’re well on their way. Fingers crossed, we’ll be back in our space early June! We’ve been posting instagram stories to show progress – make sure to follow along.
The Agent Training Center we mentioned last month has been completed. What was once an outdated space looks bright and refreshed. We received rave reviews from our clients. They loved it so much, they are repainting huddle rooms on the first floor, to update that space, as well. Enjoy some pictures from our punchlist!
Rep Round Up
During our cleaning and packing, we were able to squeeze in some rep appointments. We’re glad we did because we saw new whimsical tiles, several new fabric patterns, textures, and an inspiring artwork presentation.

Happenings
April 17th, We were invited by HBF Textiles to attend the Designers and Architects Talk Series presented by IIDA. This was the 2nd panel discussion of the series – New, Bold, and Entrepreneurial: Design Firms Changing the Face of Chicago at the IIDA Headquarters. This was an interesting panel, that included four principals within the industry, that have recently started their own firms.
Each person discussed their experience in the industry and how they came about starting their own firm. Everyone seemed to have their own breaking point that gave them the final push they needed. Throughout the panel, several topics were touched on; marketing, clients, staff, proposals, accounting, advantages, and disadvantages.
All four panelists seem to be thriving and making impacts in the industry. It was great to hear their stories and learn more about their firms and the people within them.
One take away from the discussion was, there is plenty of work for everyone, no matter what the size of your firm!
April 18th, Katie attended a Moen Pop-up Event at the Merchandise Mart. In addition to Moen, there were guest vendors that brought their latest products as well – Reclaimed Table, Hafele, Danver, Next Now, and Ceramic Technics.
We’re pretty familiar with all the vendors, except Next Now. They are a Digital Experiential Marketing Agency located in the West Loop, creating interactive experiences with the latest technologies for several brands.
Katie discussed with Jared Stabiner, Next Now’s Strategy Consultant, how we use virtual reality in our office. Not only is it beneficial to our clients to visualize spaces, but also within our office while developing designs. It was cool to hear about their capabilities and projects they have worked on, one being the new Moen showroom.
All in all a fun and informative event to attend.
We’re over this crazy weather and looking forward to warmer temperatures! Hoping May doesn’t disappoint us.
As always, make sure to follow us on Instagram –
Till then, see you next month!
