SAS Office Renovation Northbrook, Illinois
Pulling from our history of commercial office renovation work, SAS designed an open-office floor plan with a mix of large and small gathering spaces to encourage a collaborative environment. The work was completed in two phases.
Phase I included the build-out of our War Room, a part conference room and part collaborative space. The main feature of this room is a curved wall which features three large screen monitors, which will allow us to showcase our virtual reality capabilities much better. In this manner we will be able to change colors/materials in real time to help our clients visualize their projects in three dimensions. The tables are movable and can be configured into multiple layouts for the needs of the day. Phase I also includes the complete build-out of our back room, which will feature our interior design department,
additional work stations and an area to showcase project finishes.
Phase II of the development included the build-out of the remainder of the office, including the reception area, lobby and remainder of the open office work stations. The design for this open floor plan literally broke down the barriers which previously separated our work stations, made it easier to work in a team environment and allowed for more day lighting to flow through our office. Programmable lighting fixtures, brightly colored finishes and new
workstations with dual-monitor capabilities are some of the features
which have had the most impact on our daily lives. The design also features areas for soft seating for informal conversations and work tables for team meetings.
