Project Info

Meadowbrook Manor is an architecturally significant historical landmark in LaGrange, Illinois and was originally built as the Illinois Masonic Orphanage. SAS was hired to design an addition, which preserved a portion of the existing building, no longer able to function as a skilled nursing home. The addition complements the building’s existing historical details and architectural charm and provides a new entry into the building, reorienting the entire site in the process. The existing building was transformed into a commons and administrative building, while the addition consisted of 197 skilled nursing beds which provide state of the art care. This project had to be phased in order to maintain the existing nursing home while the addition was under construction and preserve the existing building’s historic facade throughout the process.
